Winterize your Wedding

I’m dreaming of a white winter wedding…

with white winter boots

or maybe silver wellies

and a gorgeous Bolero

and fabulous fur shrugs for the girls

and for the flower girl

and of course a white fur muff

Dreamy…

but this picture makes me cold…someone get this girl some boots and a scarf!

White Pumpkins for a White Wedding

This Halloween I am all about the white pumpkins.  Not that I don’t love carving a big orange pumpkin, but white pumpkins seem so chic and decorating them puts a spin on an old tradition.  I see a lot of gorgeous fall weddings incorporate oranges, purples, golds, and browns which are of course perfect fall colors, but I love the idea of using white pumpkins for a fall wedding.

If you take off the creepy spider, this is definitely my favorite for a centerpiece!

Black and white damask + white pumpkins = perfection

What do you think?

Are you still into orange pumpkins or are you joining my white pumpkin team?

Labor Day Inspired Wedding

Labor Day is here…which means the end of Summer, the last hurrah, goodbye white pants and hello sweaters.  Luckily for us Oregonians, September is usually the best month of the year, so I think we are still in for a little more sunshine.  However, this weekend usually means Summer is coming to a close so it is time for one last bbq.  And since I’ve got bbqs on my mind, I thought it would be fun to envision a wedding inspired by this very holiday that we are all about to celebrate.

What do you think of a holiday weekend wedding?  I know people have mixed feelings, but overall I like the idea.  I think your guests will be relaxed and ready to celebrate knowing they have a long weekend, and that it’s time to soak in the sunshine as fall is right around the corner.

Have a fun holiday weekend everyone!

Love Love Love…

The Wedding Cottage will be closed for the Holidays Dec. 24th ~ Jan. 3rd

Happy Holidays!  With Christmas being right around the corner, I hope you are enjoying all the wonderful holiday traditions that make this season so wonderful.  For us it is listening to Mariah Carey’s Christmas album on repeat, peppermint hot chocolates, visits to Peacock lane to see the lights, and wrapping all those presents!

This year The Wedding Cottage will be closed between December 24th and January 3rd.  We will re-open on January 4th  refreshed and ready to take on 2011.  Plus, we are going to be re-decorating, so you will have to come see the Cottage once we are done!

We hope this won’t be too much of an inconvenience, especially to all those Brides who will will be getting a shiny ring in their stocking!  We understand that those first couple of days of being engaged are truly magical, and we hope you will come visit us in the new year once we are back open.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!

Day 12: “Our First Christmas” Pewter Ornament

I saved my favorite gift for the last day of our “12 Days of Stocking Stuffers”.  It is a brand new item at the shop, and I am so excited to “show off” our Christmas ornaments!

These ornaments are made out of Pewter, and are hand designed and created down in Eugene, Oregon.  This ornament is the perfect gift for a newlywed, as it says “Our 1st Christmas Together as Mr. & Mrs.”  How adorable would this look on a tree!?

With its heirloom quality it is sure to be cherished for many Christmases to come!

Sold exclusively at The Wedding Cottage.

Day 11: 52 Tips for the Bride-to-Be

This next stocking stuffer is a must have for any Bride-to-Be.  These 52 essential tips will make any Bride just a little more prepared, and realize the wedding of her dreams without losing sleep or her sense of humor!

Day 10: Do you know your Bride/Groom?

We are getting down to the last of our “12 Days of Stocking Stuffers”, but I saved some of my favorites for the end.  In fact, I liked this one so much that I made my husband take the test (dont worry, he passed!)

Do you know your Bride & Do you know your Groom??

Does your Bride prefer her ice cream in a cone or a cup? Do you know how your Groom’s parents met?   Do you know what junk food he couldn’t live without?

Take the test and see how much you know!

Day 9: Wedding Lip Balm

In case you think there is something the wedding world hasn’t thought of? Think again!  Up next, Wedding Lip Balm!

This would make for such a cute stocking stuffer for any newlywed on your list!

My favorite part is where it says:

“Guaranteed wedding bliss when applied before each kiss!”
