The Wedding Cottage is a Portland boutique where you can find “the bliss of the wedding day, the delight of a baby, the joy of a gift, and the charm of an invitation.” We provide a unique collection of gifts, accessories, and invitations for all of life’s celebrations! Originally opened in 1984, our store has become a landmark and “must-go” destination when planning a wedding. In the spring of 2012, we expanded from carrying only wedding accessories, to becoming a full gift shop, offering items that hopefully keep our customers coming back long after they tie the knot. We are really excited to build long-term relationships with the people who visit the store by adding other gifts, while continuing to offer our selection of wedding invitations and accessories that our customers have come to know and love. our mission...Our mission is to be the gift shop you would drive across town to visit. We strive to create relationships and a connection with our customers that stems beyond the transaction. You will always be warmly greeted and we are devoted and committed to making each visit to our store an experience. We offer quality products that will surprise and delight, and keep you coming back for years to come for all of life's celebrations! about the owner...My love affair with weddings started when I became the Social Events Manager at the gorgeous Embassy Suites Downtown Hotel, formerly known as the Multnomah Hotel. I was fresh out of college with a degree in Italian Studies and excited to be in the "real world". I had attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and even though it was exhilarating to live in such a big city, I'm a born and raised Oregonian and I missed my family, friends and the lovely Northwest. The day after graduation I packed up my bags and headed back to Portland to start work the very next week! After only 3 years at the Embassy Suites, the opportunity to purchase The Wedding Cottage fell into my lap! When I learned that this charming boutique had opened in 1984 (the same year I was born), I just knew it was meant to be! Although it was hard to leave Embassy Suites, I knew I was ready to branch out on my own! In the spring of 2012, I began to introduce baby and general gift lines into the store. I realized it was a natural continuation to the store and it would allow me to create more long-lasting relationships with our customers. I also began to carry a large selection of pewter and stoneware gifts by Crosby & Taylor – my parents’ 26 year old Eugene company. I couldn't be more excited to connect our two businesses and to have the chance to work more closely with my mom. We both enjoy finding and creating extraordinary gifts that will bring joy to the person who buys them and to the person who receives them. I feel both proud – and lucky! - to have my mom’s guidance in this new chapter of The Wedding Cottage!
